Environmental Projects

We are committed to the environment and act responsibly, continually investing in research, studies and in the application of new technologies. We work with performance indicators that make it possible to monitor our efficiency with regard to key environmental factors (energy consumption, water, materials and raw materials, as well as waste management). Grupo AS Resinas internally developed, through its Human Resources department, the Sustainable Living Program, a program that includes themes and campaigns with a positive, dynamic tone and that seeks to show the value of caring for one’s self, for others, and for the planet.

Waste management plan

The waste management adopted by AS Resinas seeks the continuous reuse of these wastes as a source of energy generation, thus reducing the group’s environmental footprint.

Sustainable Living

Though our Sustainable Living Program, we work to raise awareness among our employees about the problems caused by trash and the importance of recycling.

We train employees to avoid waste and incentivize them and third parties to extend the knowledge acquired at our company with their friends and family members, thus improving their quality of life.

The program also encompasses sorting of recyclable materials, such as paper, plastic, glass, metal cans, and others, which are then donated to co-ops associated with city governments, generating jobs and income.

Emissions Monitoring

Our Apiaí unit has an atmospheric emissions control system where periodic monitoring is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation. All parameters monitored have been measured at levels below limits set by environmental regulation agencies.

Sewage Treatment Station (Liquids)

All industrial sewage generated at our Apiaí unit is sent to an Effluent  Treatment Station, where it is treated and reused in our industrial processes by means of a closed system. All procedures used during this process meet the limits pre-established by pertinent legislation and meet the parameters specified by the environmental protection agency of the State of São Paulo (Cetesb).

Protection of biodiversity

The management of the group’s own forests is carried out in a sustainable manner. At the end of the productive cycle of the pine forests, we practice reforestation, starting a new productive cycle.

All of the legal reserves and permanent preservation areas on all of Grupo AS Resinas’ farms undergo constant maintenance in a manner that respects pre-established boundaries.
